<span style="color: red;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">This morning after the fourth night
of no sleep, I was led in bed thinking about what needed to be done today,
before getting out of bed; when I heard tiny3 come up the stairs singing the
theme tune to Postman Pat. This probably
would make some sleep deprived mothers a little peaked, after all tiny3 was singing at the
top of his voice and it was early in the morning. To me tiny3’s singing was the best sound in
the world, as it was only three years ago tiny3 was none verbal. It has been three years of hard work, many
speech therapy appointments (and more in the future, as he is 7yrs old school, and
speaks in the age range of a 4/5-year-old).</span></span></div>

<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt;">
<span style="color: red;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">I’m so proud of tiny3 who has
autism, he works so hard at school, at remembering all the social rules that
don’t come naturally to him, learning new words every day<span style="color: red;"><span style="font-family: "georgia";">, being a happy fun loving mischievous boy</span></span>. </span></span></div>

<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt;">
<span style="color: red;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Thank you tiny3 for being you and
please keep on singing.</span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: x-small;">My Great Blog Bake Off this week is a tea loaf of banana
bread.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I choose banana bread as I had 6
ripe bananas in the fruit bowl.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Also it
is a simple loaf to make this appealed to me as my arthritis in my hands is
painful today, so no lifting of a heavy mixer was a bonus.</span></div>
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">

<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
Method</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="color: #cc0000;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">1 - Start by pre heating your oven to 1700C/gas
mark 3.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span><span style="font-size: x-small;">Then lightly oil and line a loaf
tin with baking parchment paper.</span></span></span></div>
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<o:p><span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: x-small;"> </span></o:p></div>
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: x-small;">2 – Pour the toffee vodka & raisins into a small
saucepan and simmer for 2/3 minutes, then set aside for 45 minutes to 1 hour
till the raisins are all plump up.</span><br />
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><o:p><span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: x-small;"> </span></o:p><br />
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: x-small;">3 – In a large bowl sift the flour, salt and baking powder,
also the sugar, butter and nuts.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I used
a pastry blender to make the texture to course breadcrumbs or you could use the
traditional method of rubbing the mix between your fingers and thumb.</span></div>
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: x-small;">4 – In a small bowl add the eggs and vanilla extract and

with a potato masher.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Once mashed add
your now soak raisins (and any leftover vodka).</span></div>

<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;">1/2 teaspoon of baking powder</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;">Melt the butter and add to the sugars, combine then add the egg and vanilla extract. Once all this is mix add the flour, coco powder and baking powder. Give this a good mix then add the cherries, marshmallows and chocolate. Stir in then leave to rest for five minutes - I find the biscuits bake better if the mixture has been rested.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;">Oh before you melt the butter pop your oven on to 180 degrees to warm up.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;">Once the biscuit mix has rested, line some baking sheets with baking parchment and spoon out to what ever size you wish. A table spoon of mixture makes a giant biscuit, a half table spoon makes a smallish biscuit. Be warn the mixture spread when baking.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;">I made a variety of sizes for the biscuit tower.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;">Pop them in the oven for between 8-10 minutes. Once they have bake leave them on the baking tray for a minute or two then transfer to a cooling rack.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;">My second biscuits where triple choc chip, which is the same mixture as the rocky road biscuits I just left out the coco powder, cherries and marshmallows and as I need to make a lot of biscuits for a 30cm tower just like they did on the Great British Bake off on Tuesday, I tripled the amounts so landed up with about 300g of chocolate in white, milk and dark.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;">Once the biscuits had cooled I started my assembly and this is my biscuit tower</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="color: red;">Let me set the scene
– imagine a holiday cottage by the sea with one hubby waking up and three tines
having breakfast and one stress/tired mummy preparing a picnic whilst
supervising said tines breakfast.</span></span></div>
<span style="color: red;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Calibri;">Then the mummy gets a phone call on her mobile that makes
her heart stop and her soul & brain go “Oh no!” here we go again.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It is the mummy’s younger sister phoning to
say their cousin is in a hospice with cancer and is not expected to stay on
this mortal coil of ours much longer.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>At
the same time time stops and flashes back to when the mummy had to tell the
younger sister that their father had died because their mother was too
distraught to do it.</span></div>
<span style="color: red;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Calibri;">Yes I am that mummy and that was the first week of our
summer holiday and the first week of the school summer break.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>All summer whilst trying to make the summer as
happy and fun filled as I could for my three tines my heart would stop every
time my phone rang or a text came through.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>I spent the summer making sure my mobile had a signal and was charged. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Whilst waiting/expecting the news that no one
ever wants to get.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>My amazing cousin is
proving the doctors wrong and is fighting to stay alive, unfortunately it is
not a matter of when she will go home more a matter of when we all have to say
good bye.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>My cousin was a big part of my
childhood and she has hung on for seven extra weeks now, though she gets
frailer every week.</span></div>
<span style="color: red;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Calibri;">Now here is the kick in the teeth....... tomorrow is the
anniversary of my father’s death.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He
passed away from cancer many years before the twin towers where sent crashing
down to the ground.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>So tomorrow I will
wake up check my phone like I do every morning, I will wondering if last night
was the night or will today be the day.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>I will get up, breakfast three small children and take them to school and
I will mourn the loss of my family that is no longer with us.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Just like so many will mourn on September 11<span style="font-size: x-small;">th</span>
and wish that <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>September had not turn
into a month of mourning and remembering loved ones no longer with us on this
mortal coil.</span></div>

<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="color: red;">For some time
now I have want a Radio Wagon, for those not in the know this is a pull long
red truck (the little red one you sometimes see on American films pulled by
children). Why would a grown woman want a children truck do I hear you
shout...... because I was bored of pushing a buggy, after nearly eight years
and three children it has been time to say “goodbye” to our much love and used
Phil & Ted.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Don’t get me wrong now,
a Phil & Ted is an excellent buggy.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>I have pushed and pulled our Phil & Ted over snow, mud, forest
walks, sand, Chisel beach and many a Norfolk pebble beach, no terrain has ever
defeated our beloved buggy no matter how many children where in it or how much
stuff was hanging off it.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It was just
time for a change. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>A radio wagon could
be filled with children, picnics and seaside paraphernalia.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Now here’s the problem – they are not cheap
to buy over here as they are American and have to be imported, when you can
find a retail outlet that imports them.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Many times over the years I have saved enough money to buy one, then
instead of buying the Radio Wagon I’ve had to buy new shoes for the children or
get a kitchen appliance repaired, something has always need to be purchased
that has taken priority over the wagon.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Then one day a good friend of mine posted on her facebook page that a
friend of hers was selling one.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>A quick
text was sent to find out the price, which was do able and a radio wagon was
mine..... sorry the children says it ours, it’s a sharing thing mummy. </span></span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="color: red;">So off we went for
a lovely lunch and forest walk with friends to collect it and try it out.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<span style="color: red;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><o:p><span style="color: red;"> </span></o:p></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-R3-10y2X9eo/Ud01dFkwCRI/AAAAAAAAACc/qwLAKiLoiw0/s1600/June+17.06.13+big+camera+043.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-R3-10y2X9eo/Ud01dFkwCRI/AAAAAAAAACc/qwLAKiLoiw0/s320/June+17.06.13+big+camera+043.JPG" width="180" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<span style="color: red;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><o:p><span style="color: red;"> </span></o:p></span></div>
<span style="color: red;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="color: red;">As you can see
it is loved not just by me (school runs for us means; three children, three
book bags, three lunch boxes and on a Friday one violin). </span></span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="color: red;">We get many an
admiring glance from other people on the way to school or in the park.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I have even been asked by other mums and
grannies what is it called and where they can buy one from as their children
now wants one.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I have even been
approached by a local mum who was brought up in the states as a child, who was
amazed I had one and explain she has fond memories of pulling her siblings
along in one.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<span style="color: red;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="color: red;">So yes dreams
can come true, you just have to be patient sometimes.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><o:p><span style="font-size: x-small;"> </span></o:p></span></div>

<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: red;">A</span> <span style="color: red;">few weeks ago I had a mad hour in my workshop making lots
of napkins for the tinies to use, as I was fed up with the amount I spent on
wipes for their faces.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The tinies now like
using their napkins and I have enjoyed spending less on wipes.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Now I have a new problem, I have spent the
last couple of weeks trying to find a tidy storage solution for the napkins, after
trying out many different ideas from bowls to baskets etc none look right in
our breakfast room.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Then one day when I
was hunting down the buckets & spades to pack in readiness for our family
holiday I thought why not bring a bit of the seaside in land and after a quick
interweb search I found just what I was looking for a mini castle beach bucket.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FVX45UC9q68/UdvIK-jYC8I/AAAAAAAAACM/AsJ4yPyVq2g/s1600/July+2013+big+camera+003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FVX45UC9q68/UdvIK-jYC8I/AAAAAAAAACM/AsJ4yPyVq2g/s320/July+2013+big+camera+003.JPG" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Arial;">Now we have a fun yet tidy table.</span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;">I had a Magpie moment last week; I spotted a scarf in the
window of my local charity shop, so I pop
in to have a look as you do, it was alas not what I was looking for so I walk
out of the shop thinking “oh that jug looks nice” but as I was on my way to
pick up the tinies from school I thought no will pop back tomorrow and
purchase it.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>So I walk out of the shop, then I
has that “no if I don’t buy it now it will be purchase by someone else” moment.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>And yes I went back into the shop.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In the mean time the shop assistant has put
out this:-</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<o:p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"> </span></o:p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0EqBT13AGRo/Ub7b1v3LFuI/AAAAAAAAABo/0QeWvwtp5iQ/s1600/June+17.06.13+big+camera+092.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0EqBT13AGRo/Ub7b1v3LFuI/AAAAAAAAABo/0QeWvwtp5iQ/s320/June+17.06.13+big+camera+092.JPG" width="180" /></a></div>
</span><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<o:p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"> </span></o:p></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;">(purchased without the thread on, I just could not wait to get the thread rack home and put all my cotton reels on it in colour order).</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"></span> </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;">So I quickly pick it up and paid for it, as it was to go a bargain
to walk pass.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>And I did buy the jug.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<o:p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"> </span></o:p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/---DivT39uXE/Ub7cnhTCDAI/AAAAAAAAABw/utLxhX16f2U/s1600/June+17.06.13+big+camera+093.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/---DivT39uXE/Ub7cnhTCDAI/AAAAAAAAABw/utLxhX16f2U/s320/June+17.06.13+big+camera+093.JPG" width="180" /></a></div>
</span><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<o:p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"> </span></o:p></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"> </span><o:p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"> </span></o:p><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<o:p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;">I must confess that when I proudly show this new jug to hubby, their was a little eye roll from him. You see I must take this moment to confess to having a small'ish collection of jugs and crockery. So a new jug was adds to the collection, as you can see this has a vintage look to it, it is nice and heavy and has a lid to prevent slippages. </span></o:p></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;">The bargains last week did not stop there, best of all was a
surprise eBay purchase made by hubby of an Outwell Vermont tent.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>More of that later in the week.</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">This is an important charity to me as I lost my aunt/god mother to breast cancer some years ago, earlier this year I had a conversation with a friend that we all dread to have, yes my friend phoned to say she had found a lump in her breast and it was cancer.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>After spending sometime crying and thinking why me again, I did not want to lose someone else to cancer, I gave myself a good firm talking to, that I was not suffering from cancer and yes I know my friend had a hard road ahead of her to walk, I could not help her by crying or thinking of what if’s, what I could do in my small way was to walk the moonwalk and raise some money for this amazing charity.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Unfortunately by this time both the full and half moonwalks where full, so I decided to support those that were walking by becoming a volunteer and making a pact with myself to walk the three land challenge next year (the three land challenge involves walking a full moonwalk in London, Edinburgh and Iceland), if my friend Mrs R could undergo her treatment then I could train for three moonwalks.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></span></div><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;">So Saturday evening saw me in Bedford train station, with my backpack packed with all the items recommended in the volunteer’s handbook, looking around the station I started to spot white (full moonwalk) and pink (half moonwalk) caps being worn or carried by other ladies also waiting to travel to Hyde park.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Little did I know at that moment of the sight I would see once on the bus from St Pancras station up to Hyde park, hundreds of woman and men walking along happily heading to Hyde park.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Then I spotted the big and I mean huge pink walk the walk marquee, I found where us volunteers where to sign in and get our bright green t-shirts’ with a black bra mortify printed on the front and out bright green caps with “the crew – moonwalk” printed on the front.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><br />

This challenged appealed to me for two reasons, 1) I like a challenge, particularly a crafting one and 2) I have some pairs of jeans that no longer fit me, waiting to either go to the charity shop or to be upcycled. </span><br />
<span style="color: red; font-family: Georgia;">So I took a pair of jeans into my workshop; after sitting for a while wondering if I should turn them into a skirt and then realising their would be no point as the jeans don't fit as jeans they would not fit as a skirt. I decided a teddy bear would be a good use, so I went through my collection of vintage patterns and found a make do and mend pattern for a teddy bear.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Rh27ZxlQCHg/T29l_jCs9yI/AAAAAAAAAAM/vSMayf_s11U/s1600/march+2012+-+little+camera+023.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Rh27ZxlQCHg/T29l_jCs9yI/AAAAAAAAAAM/vSMayf_s11U/s320/march+2012+-+little+camera+023.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">This is the result of that pattern and my first ever attempt at a soft toy. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-family: Georgia;">I then made a crayon roll:-</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZkUuIVfIniQ/T29mUfIB9YI/AAAAAAAAAAU/jPWKPwiXIyg/s1600/march+2012+-+little+camera+018.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZkUuIVfIniQ/T29mUfIB9YI/AAAAAAAAAAU/jPWKPwiXIyg/s320/march+2012+-+little+camera+018.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ibl0JdDP1xY/T29maWA55kI/AAAAAAAAAAc/qZ0Phv0tia4/s1600/march+2012+-+little+camera+017.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ibl0JdDP1xY/T29maWA55kI/AAAAAAAAAAc/qZ0Phv0tia4/s320/march+2012+-+little+camera+017.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">As you can see, I added a patch of fabric from my scraps stash to give a bit of colour rather then having all blue crayon roll. The inside of the crayon roll, I've used felt as I find this better for crayons and pencils.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-family: Georgia;">Then I moved on to:-</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XzPr9iDF6oI/T29nIzoLvHI/AAAAAAAAAAk/-Gv6qBefhbM/s1600/march+2012+-+little+camera+019.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XzPr9iDF6oI/T29nIzoLvHI/AAAAAAAAAAk/-Gv6qBefhbM/s320/march+2012+-+little+camera+019.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">A zipped cosmetic purse, with flower applique for a bit of extra colour. I also lined the cosmetic purse in the fabric I cut the flowers from. Alas my flash was not strong enough in the evening light to pick this out.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-family: Georgia;">I then made:-</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7jvOwI4JThw/T29n-UHVgTI/AAAAAAAAAAs/Wr2sJHBTOpk/s1600/march+2012+-+little+camera+013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7jvOwI4JThw/T29n-UHVgTI/AAAAAAAAAAs/Wr2sJHBTOpk/s320/march+2012+-+little+camera+013.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">A little pocket money purse, using the zip from the jeans and freehand machine embroidered the words on.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-family: Courier New;">And finally:-</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zRB8Zmj6BXk/T29oUW7L6gI/AAAAAAAAAA0/gLaPalGrAmA/s1600/march+2012+-+little+camera+014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zRB8Zmj6BXk/T29oUW7L6gI/AAAAAAAAAA0/gLaPalGrAmA/s320/march+2012+-+little+camera+014.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">A little girls tote bag made from the bottom part of one leg of the jeans. Which I embellished with a little cotton flower I made and the cotton tape I had in my cupboard.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1RPa0kV8I7w/T29o1moGuLI/AAAAAAAAAA8/3GztfVlc6Cc/s1600/march+2012+-+little+camera+012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1RPa0kV8I7w/T29o1moGuLI/AAAAAAAAAA8/3GztfVlc6Cc/s320/march+2012+-+little+camera+012.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">In the end I managed to make five items from one pair of jeans, which I think is not to bad considering I was using my own jeans and I am only five foot tall. </span><br />

I did not get a chance to blog about this at the time as I then went straight into 5th Birthday party organising for tiny2 & Christmas prep for my family; making Christmas presents and baking. After baking a mountain of mince pies and the general madness of that time of year I have finally had a moment to sit down and write about my week of weeks!</span><br />
<div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;"> Well it was a week of weeks, one week four craft markets to sell at. What did I learn from this week:- many things; firstly my hubby seems to think sewing is a form of alchemy he has no understanding of what I do or how it is made. Secondly I was amazed at how pleased I was if someone I didn't know brought something off me and said how nice it looked and how they liked my choice of fabrics and products. Thirdly I found that parents at preschool/school events do not feel comfortable buying off other parents, they seem to be more comfortable buying off totally strangers then someone they meet at school everyday. May be they are concerned about being judged? Who knows! This is </span><span style="font-family: Georgia;">something I noticed happening not just at my stall but at other fellow parents stalls. And finally people will say the strangest things. One comment I remember someone saying was "It looks so real!" As if something made by someone at home at not in a factory is not real, I assure you readers my products are real and I take a long time to perfect the patterns and products. I am also amazed at the amount of people that would look at my items and say "Oh that's an idea, I think I will copy that idea! Clever you!" And then either tell me what they are going to do or walk off to the next stall.</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;">One of the mayor things I did learn was don't sew late into the night. I don't care to count the number of pins I knocked on the floor or the amount of times I stuck a pin in my finger. Luckily everything was pre cut so no costly fabric mistakes where made. Will I do four fairs in one week again ....... possibly with a lot more planning and time to prepare. </span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;">Now on to planning products for 2012. January is going to be the month for planning and prototype production for sewlovecraft. So watch this space!</span></div>Sewlovecrafthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06419127387922258573noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2537797157324942460.post-78589261738168967032011-11-15T13:42:00.000-08:002011-11-15T13:42:11.878-08:00Why!<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">Why did I start "sewlovecraft"? </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New;">It's all rather simple really; I like to craft and I wanted to be able to work from home. So I'm starting my own crafting business after years of making presents for family and friends, it was a obvious choice really.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New;">Next came a brain storming on what I wanted to make, then came the realisation I'm only one person and I can only make so much in the time between school runs, being a mum and housework. I have lots of ideas for products, so watch this space in the new year to see what I make.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New;">Right so I now have a business plan, ideas for products to make, all I needed was a name. One no one else had, one that gave you an idea what to expect from me and one that was not used on facebook, twitter or the web. After much deliberating and driving everyone around me a little insane I (we) came up with "sewlovecraft". Next step was the computer work, setting up email, facebook, twitter, blog accounts and a Folksy shop. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New;">Finally I got to buy some fantastic fabrics from the <a href="http://www.schoolofcraft.co.uk/">www.schoolofcraft.co.uk</a> fabric sale and then I started to make patterns and cut out tote bags, bunting, pencil case rolls and crayon rolls to name but a few items I make and at last I got to sit down at my sewing machine and sew. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New;">I'm not only supplying my folksy shop, but also going on the road and attending several local Christmas fairs. </span>Sewlovecrafthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06419127387922258573noreply@blogger.com1
